This is a rematch of the 2025 final, which Barbados won, and of the 2023 final, which Barbados also won. It is also the fixture with the clearest contrast of instincts. The Royals play the whole tournament at their own ground and know exactly how a Kensington evening tends to behave, while the Amazon Warriors bring a spin-led identity formed on Guyanese surfaces they do not get to use this year. The interesting question is timing. Early in the competition a Bridgetown deck usually still has something for the quicks, which suits the hosts. Later it slows and starts gripping, which suits the visitors. Where this fixture falls in the schedule may matter more than either squad does. The thing most likely to decide it is whichever captain reads the surface correctly at the toss rather than the one who read it correctly last week.

The three-time defending champions against the only other side to have won this competition is the fixture the tournament would pick if it were allowed to choose. Trinbago's traditional strength is a deep bank of specialist spin, which is exactly the resource that appreciates as a reused square slows down, and the Royals will have more evenings of data about that square than anyone. Both of those advantages point at the same phase of the game, the middle overs, which is where this is likely to be settled rather than at either end.
